I'm not sure if it is the record holder, but probably the biggest you could buy for yourself is the 160 MP Seitz.

Hasselblad H3DII-50 is 50 megapixels, and costs about $28,000 with a basic lens. That's for a camera available to consumers.

This one has 1.4 gigapxels (although it's not a true sensor size, it's made of 60 24mp sensors), but it's not in stores:
