Only your first link works, the other's don't. You need to check your links before you post them (and be logged out of your accounts for that to work).

Cameras make a difference, better cameras CAN take better photos.

However, by far the biggest difference is made by the person using them...... they are only a tool.

You can put a fantastic professional camera in the wrong hands, and it will take lousy photos. A good photographer can coax great photos out of even the simplest cameras.

If you borrow a few books on photography and watch a bunch of tutorials, you will learn a lot.
With some knowledge, you WILL take much better photos and you will learn to overcome (or at least realize) whatever limitations your camera has.

New HDTV static on local channels?

AstroMajor

I have Comcast Xfinity digital cable and had it hooked up (via a Tivo and comcast box) to a 6 year old standard definition rear-projection tv. That TV died, and we bought a new plasma HDTV. When I plugged the comcast box into the new TV (I didn't unplug all the cables to everything, just literally unplugged the input from the old TV and put it in the new one), now on two or three local channels (ABC 7, Fox 2, NBC 3) I have visible static lines and static popping. All my other channels are completely unaffected, and I was wondering what could be causing this.

I'll be getting a new HD box from comcast on Monday, do you think that will solve the problem? Also of note, I currently connect the comcast box via RF Coax cable, maybe that is the source of the interference and it will go away when I get the HD box and connect via HDMI (?). I don't understand why it would affect only the local channels and none of the others.

Thanks for your time, I greatly appreciate it!

" (I didn't unplug all the cables to everything, just literally unplugged the input from the old TV and put it in the new one), "

Too quote the mythbusters, "well there's your problem".

The New HD box should make a HUGE DIFFERENCE.

Just to give you a rough idea in numbers,

You will be going from 480 interlaced lines all the way up to 1080 interlaced lines. (in some cases 720 progressive lines, and for VOD 1080 progressive lines).

Resolution on TV is like megapixels on a camera. More megapixels = better picture.

Between now and Monday you can try pluggin your cable directly into to the TV (skip the box) and see what you get. You "should" get ABC, FOX, NBC and the other locals in HD.
