Whats the difference between ipod touch and iphone?

I'm thinking about buying the Ipod Touch and upon reading its specifications, I realized it's basically an Iphone without the phone part. So whats the difference? By the way I'm refering to the itouch 4g with IOS.
I can't make calls but I can send messages and it has face-time. So whats the difference?

iphone has gps,5 megapixel camera,CAN CALL!better internet,better ram,ipod is lighter and thinner,... (oh yeah on ipod touch there is a app called textfree,
whuch is free and it lets you call for free!!!!

The new ipad 2 has two cameras. How many megapixels on each? Apple does not have this information on the tech specs. Anyone know?

Both cameras are capable of still photos and video recording. Back camera is capable of 5x digital zoom. Front camera is VGA still photo and video recording and the back camera is HD video recording and (presumably) VGA still photos. Both are 30 frames per second. Apple didn't say anything about mega pixels, though it should on par with the ipod touch 4g. Take this with a grain of salt because i don't know for sure.

EDIT: just read the description again. you probably already knew all that stuff. Just assume it's the same quality of the ipod touch 4g
