Hi there,
I already own the Canon 1000D camera with a 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens but looking at buying a camera to take on holidays with me as the SLR is too heavy and bulky to bring. I'm looking at buying the Nikon Coolpix S3000.
Would you recommend it?
Is there any cons with it?
Has it got a manual function to adjust aperture and shutter speed
Any other camera you would recommend ??
Thanks in advance

Bright 3.0-inch touch-panel LCD; Sensitive Response Touch Panel; Touch Shutter and Autofocus
4x wide-angle Zoom-NIKKOR glass lens

4-way VR Image Stabilization System; Smart Portrait System

Answer
the differences between the cameras you mentioned is negligible.
Both are competitive point and shoot cameras. One will not be Superior to the other. It is a matter of preference. The best thing to do is to hold each camera in your hand and find out which camera you think feels more comfortable.
Being a canon user; i'd be inclined to the elph 100. The menus will just be in a more intuitive place than the nikon. That is because i'm use to canon cameras.
