highest megapixel camera cell phone image
Q. I am looking to buy a new cell phone. I want a cool phone that has good features and I want to have the highest mega pixel camera on it out there. I don't want something more than 250 or 300 dollars

Answer
well if money is not of main concern, then you could try sony ericsson. the k800i or the upcoming k850i. its got a 3.2 megapixel camera with carl zeiss optics. best camera on a phone. its crisper than nokia phones.

Is it true that the higher the megapixels, the better the quality of the picture?

magic

I have a digital camera Nikon Coolpix L5 which is 7 megapixel and a Sony Ericsson w995 which is 8.1 megapixels. I find out that my digital camera has the better quality than the my w995 cell phone.

What are your views on this?

Answer
Nope. In fact, too many pixels on a small image sensor will actually generate more noise and worse image quality. There are other factors which are MUCH more important to image quality than the number of pixels. For example, your Nikon has a larger image sensor, and a much better lens than your camera phone. The sensor and lens are much, much more important when it comes to image quality than the number of pixels.

To be quite honest, marketers just use the number of pixels like the horsepower of cars, to sell more. Most people automatically think that a higher number makes something better, and will spend money unnecessarily to get that higher number. In cameras, marketers use the MP for this. That's why they can talk people to spend $50 more on a camera with 14MP instead of a camera that is just a good, or even better which has only 10MP. What the uneducated consumer does not understand is that they have just paid $50 extra for a 14MP camera that is actually not as good as a 10MP camera!

Can the good people of Yahoo help me choose a good digital camera for sports action shots?

There are so many reviews at all the different web sites that sell cameras. Some people love the camera's they bought while the person reviewing right after them will absolutely hate it. I'm on a budget up to $500. This camera will be for sports shots of my kids participating in soccer, hockey, and baseball. PLEASE HELP Thanks!!

Answer
At that budget, you may be looking at purchasing a used DSLR with something like a 55-200mm or 70-300mm lens.

A DSLR because they are the only cameras that have a small enough shutter lag to "catch" the action when you press the shutter release.

A long lens to be able to get good tight shots of the players.

You can buy a new DSLR for under $500, but it will not have THE lens you really need.

Found small white specs in backside of dslr camera lens?

Aaron

I bought a dslr d3200 and after a few weeks of having I noticed the backside of the 18-55mm lens has specs inside of it. How in the world would that happen? Since ive put in the lens ive taken it out maybe once and always use the lens caps immediately to avoid dust getting anywhere at all. I dont notice anything within the photos, but seriously...why should I decide not to return the camera kit? I bought it brand new sealed from costco, is this common to find specs inside a lens? What are my chances if I return and re-buy that the new cameras lens would also have specs in it?

Answer
The kit lens breathes (inhales and exhales air) as you adjust focus and zoom. This will suck in dust as you adjust the lens. Many cheaper zoom lenses breathe. Dust on the inside lens elements will not be noticeable on your images. However, dust on your sensor will be clearly visible under certain conditions. Fortunately, the sensor cleaning mechanisms all manufacturers use these days are pretty effective at removing dust from the sensor.

Use a Giottos Rocket Blower to clear out the dust bunnies. The medium or large blower is recommended. The small size isn't as effective.

ALso, I like phones that are quite wide like Blackberrys although I've been looking at them and although they look good in a lot of ways the camera mega pixels are shocking, even the new one only has a 3.2 megapixel camera.

Thanks for your help.
I only want phones that are already available in the UK now or a coming out within weeks

x

Answer
NOT AN iphone

1. the iphone's camera is only 2.0 megapixel...low quality..others like Nokia have 5.0 ......Samsung has 8.0 out..saw it today..wow!

2. iphone does not take video! most phones do...this one does not so dont be fooled when you buy it.

3. you are restricted to buy either an 8gb or 16 gb memory iphone...although itouch comes in 32 gb...no 32 gb iphone exists yet.

It will be a year before you see these functions appear...Apples a bit slow.

Best part of iphone and itouch..............Extreamly high quality..very rare to have a problem.

best dslr camera $700 image

Lauren

I need some experienced input! I would like to buy a DSLR camera for about $700-$800. What, in your opinion, is the best camera I should get for that? What should I look for in specs? Is megapixels the most important factor per dollar? What brands have the best features? I would like to buy a camera with a lens included in the package. Thank you!

Answer
No, megapixels are not the best way to choose, All new cameras have plenty megapixels so anything over 10 will give you a poster size print. The best way to get a camera is go to a camera store that carries multiple bands and hold them and test them out. Not all cameras feel the same while shooting. The 2 big brands are Canon and Nikon, But there are more like Olympus, Panasonic, Sony Fuji and others. There are cameras better for sports then there are ones for portraits (this cost big bucks) or just a walk around camera. Most of the Canon rebels will be good and some have video. If you are planning on upgrading later you should get a camera that has a lot of choices for new lenses. You will keep a good lens longer then the camera. The Canon EOS Rebel T2i Black 18.0 MP come with the lens and has Video Around $649.00

What price should I pay for a dslr camera ?

Rhubarb

I'm saving up for a dslr camera and I've seen some under £500 with a lense included but I think the quailty won't be as good as a £700 one including the lense :L what should I do ?

Answer
Dano is correct...Photography is roughly 70% photographer skill/experience, 20% lens quality, and 10% camera body

Both Canon and Nikon make nice cameras. The best thing to do is visit an actual camera shop, like Jessops (not bestbuy/walmart/ASDA) and try the different brands/models within your budget to see which feels the best to YOU. I bought a Canon for its ergonomics/feel/menu and control layout and a fellow photog chose Nikon for the same reason....it is about personal preference.

The one thing to remember is to budget in extra money to cover an extra battery, memory cards, camera case, a USB memory card reader, and taxes (these can add another £130-£160 to the camera price).

Also, most camera shops offer free beginner camera/photography classes (and free prints) when you buy a camera there.

I need a DSLR camera for filming video. What camera and accessories should i get?

Raymond

Hello, i am looking for a dslr camera for video. I am trying to get the video possible so right now price is not very much of a factor. Also Memory space is not a factor either. I just want hand down the best possible dslr video. If its important i am mostly filming professional snowboarding in both day time and night time situations. For me distance is not really much of a factor because i can get as close as i want.Right now i am looking at the nikon d800 mostly, but also the d7100 and the d4. I am also considering cannon but i prefer nikon. So, anyways what would be the best camera, lenses, mic and general setup including anything else necessary to get the best filming possible?

Answer
To answer your questions would be an entire college course in motion photography, and this would not be the venue for that. But I do want to weigh in -
1. Don't pay any attention to those who say a DSLR can't do quality video. While there was a time when still cameras' video quality was sub-par, that time is largely over. Even some professional videographers are now buying higher-end DSLRs for their relatively low expense and availability of a wider selection of lenses. The market for pro dedicated video cameras is still strong, especially with newer tech like 4K and 8K beginning to take hold, but the lines are becoming more blurry every day between pro video and DSLR cameras.
2. Listen to photoace. I've been watching these questions for over 6 months now, and when I see he's answered I rarely see a point in adding anything. He is THE MAN - the only reason I'm saying anything now is to counter the naysayers, and to point out that the links photoace provided are over 3 years old, which is still in the right direction, but just needs to be said that things have progressed even further than they suggest (3 years is a long time in tech years). Here are a couple of links to current info I have found:

http://nofilmschool.com/?awt_l=OhIMk&awt_m=3jycuxSUmbBjwS7
http://www.redsharknews.com/

If you have $5-$10K to spend on low-medium end video equipment, or $15-$25K for the real pro thing, by all means go video camera (and many don't like the term "camcorder" - sounds very consumerish)
But if you want some really good gear (and don't forget the audio!) for up to $5K, you can do well with a DSLR.

athul m

I want to play music loudely
The sound quality should be superb
Need good picture quality and camera quality

Answer
I'm using Nokia N78. There's no problem with it. It has excellent stereo speakers that support stereo widening and a good 3.2 megapixels' camera with Carl Zeiss optics: Tessar lens, supporting 20x zoom, autofocus and flash. I recommend you to go for this handset.
Well, there are a few things, which I would like to advice you:
1. Keep the phone's firmware/software updated for improvements in the phone's functionality. The latest available firmware version is 20.149 . Check the installed firmware version by typing *#0000#.
2. Use an advanced task-manager. Nokia N78 is a multitasking smartphone. So, install and use a better task-manager like Handy Taskman (can be downloaded from http://www.epocware.com ; shareware) or Jbak taskman (can be downloaded from http://jbak.ru/jbaktaskman_en.php ; freeware), which will let you see the status of RAM and give you the list of active and previously used applications.
3. Use a good anti-virus for protection against viruses. There are many, but none of them are free. Kaspersky Mobile Security can be used for free after the free trial period is over, but you'll be neither update the database nor use anti-theft and anti-spam features. You can download it from http://www.kaspersky.com/in/mobile_downloads?chapter=207716650 . You can also purchase its license from the same site.

What iPhone 5S features would you want?

Cody

What specs and features would make it a good phone to buy for you to want to buy?
Here's a few features/specs rumours I've heard of:

1. 32, 64, 128 GB models.
2. 4 inch ultra retina display, 1920x1080p resolution, 550 ppi, IGZO display for 90% less power consuming for better battery, flexible display for shatterproof and scratch proof screen, and POSSIBLY 3D display capabilities I've heard.
3. A7 quad core processor, 64 bit, 2 GB of ram, quad core graphics chip, less power consuming.
4. 13 megapixel rear camera, F 2.0 OR F 1.8 lens, improved crystal cover, 8X digital zoom, dual LED smart flash, digital noise reducer filter, 2K video recording, 3D photos and videos (if it has a 3D display)
5. 2 megapixel front camera, 1080p FaceTime HD camera, 3D FaceTime camera.
6. Bigger battery, 1600-1800 mAH.
7. Fingerprint scanner for security, NFC, eye tracking software.
8. iOS 7

Is these rumours I've read are true then I would buy this guaranteed. I know several people who would if these were the features. What do you think?

Tips for bringing DSLR camera on a flight?

on Canon EOS 1D Mark III Digital SLR Camera - Back View
dslr camera images image

I'm planning on bringing my DSLR camera with only one lens on a domestic flight. I'm leaving the memory card and battery inside of the camera and I'm also bringing the charger.

Three questions:
1. Would I have to take my camera out of the camera bag, or would it depend on various things?
2. Would I have to turn my camera on, or would this also depend on something?
3. Do you have any essential tips to avoid unnecessary hassle/problems?

If you can answer any one of these questions, it would be appreciated. Stories of your experience with bringing a DSLR as carry-on would be great.

Answer
There are no hassles. Many people bring cameras. I have never seen any check point sign or read any regulations that say you need to take that kind of item out of you bag.

Laptops, CPAP machines, large gaming consoles or other large electronics do need to be removed, but not cameras.

There is no reason why they would ask you to turn it on. They can see from the x-ray image that there are only cameras parts inside.

The x-rays will not do anything to the camera or the card.

What would be the best DSLR camera for a beginner?

Kase

I've recently became interested in taking up photography as a hobby. I already own a digital camera, but would like to purchase a DSLR camera to take better, more professional/artistic looking photos. I would mainly be using the camera to photograph my family/pets and when I travel. I would like something easy to use, but want high quality results. Any suggestions?

Answer
While there are entry level dSLR cameras (less than $1,000), there are NO beginner dSLR cameras. They ALL work the same whether they cost $700 or $8,000.

Look at the Nikon D3100 or Canon T1i/500D

How professional or artistic your resulting images are will have all to do with your skills, NOT the camera

Best DSLR camera for film making and photography?

dslr camera lens rental
on Camera Rental Centre - Camera / DSLR / Lens / Video / Studio Rental ...
dslr camera lens rental image
Q. I've decided to purchase my first dslr camera. I'm a amateur film maker so I need a camera that can handle that, with excellent video. But I also do a lot of photography, especially sports.
I'm not too concerned with costs. Basically, I want the best possible video and picture quality possible. With quality, I'm not really willing to sacrifice.
On a less important note, I have pretty small hands, so an especially large body might be a problem.

Answer
Film makers use 16 mm and 35 mm motion picture cameras and most of them rent them from a place like here

http://www.birnsandsawyer.com/_camera-rentals/35mm-cameras/

Some dSLR's have a video feature, but are NOT designed to be a primary video camera. For those you can rent them from Birns and Sawyer or buy something like those listed on this link

http://catalog2.panasonic.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ModelList?storeId=11201&catalogId=13051&catGroupId=34401&surfModel=AG-HPX370

The above cameras are designed to produce video projects and do an excellent job

ALL video, motion picture and digital still cameras have large camera bodies, but since all but a few shots needed to produce a film/video involve the camera being mounted on a tripod, this should NOT be a problem for you.

Here is a link to the type video camera used by one of my sports shooting colleagues.

http://pro.sony.com/bbsc/ssr/cat-broadcastcameras/cat-dvcam/product-DSR400PL/

The lens he has attached to is is a Fujinon ENG Style zoom designed for 1080p

http://www.fujifilmusa.com/products/optical_devices/broadcast-hd-sd/hdtv-lenses/2-3-eng/za-select/za22x76-berd/

While simple $300 P&S cameras shoot both stills and video, neither are what you would want to use if your goal is excellent stills or excellent video.

Is there a camera that has similar qualities to the Canon 7D or the Sony NEX VG20?

Anegmr M

I was looking for a camera that is similar to these two but I only have a budget up to 1000$. I want something that is has a type of focus puller, neutral density filter, adjustable iris, and adjustable fps(frames per second). This is going to be used to shoot short films and web series.

Answer
Hi Jorgito, and welcome to Yahoo!Answers:

The basic answer is, you have to pay pro-prices for pro-features.

The two models you list are actually two totally different types of cameras. The Canon 7D is a Digital SLR still camera with video features, and the Sony VG20 is a large-sensor video camcorder with changeable lens options.

Focus pullers are usually 3rd-party add-ons, and they aren't cheap, and most require "rod mounts" which can run another several hundred dollars.

Almost no "real filmmakers" need more than standard FPS rates (24fps for film/cine-video and either 25/30fps for TV broadcast, depending on region). Anything else is "special effects", and is either a "rental camera" or a post-production effect. And ND filters can be bought as inexpensive screw-on front filters (only the pro & prosumer camcorders over your budget have internal ND filters).

If you are just doing scripted short films, a cheaper DSLR like Canon's Rebel series will handle the short takes and give you lens options. Rebel T-series kits start around $600 USD.

Otherwise, go to Canon USA's "Shop Direct" website and get a Vixia HV40 factory-refurbished for $499, and save a couple hundred dollars. You can't beat miniDV and HDV footage for quality & fast-action footage.

hope this helps,
--Dennis C.

The newest release of magic lantern can allow you to record different frame rates at different resolutions. Is this correct? Is this an advantage to installing magic lantern on your canon dslr? I love shooting 60fps and retiming to 24fps for that fluid slow motion effect, but I hate upscaling my footage to 1080p. Is it possible to shoot at 1080p and 60fps when using magic lantern on your canon dslr?

what megapixel camera does the ipod touch have image

Scobe591

I was going to get the new touch, but saw mediocre reviews on the camera, which is one of the main reasons I wanted to get a new one (I have the ipod touch 3g). I haven't found any reviews on the Galaxy Wifi 4.0, but it looks intriguing, with its 3.2 megapixel camera and Android software. Anyone know anything about this?

Answer
i do. the Samsung galaxy player 4.0 has the ability to switch from .3,1,2,2.5, and3.2mp in the camera, has the ability to change brightness of the picture the picture, image stabilizer, auto focus, different custom settings for different scenes depending on what your taking a picture on and where, the ability to easily make a panorama, to add frames, effects like sepia water color negative and black and white, change the exposure, and image quality in a sleek easy to use interface make the Samsung galaxy players camera much more useful and just better than the iPod touches camera. (plus the galaxy players camera is 5 times the resolution of the iPod touches camera)

plus any specification the iPod has the galaxy player doubles it or in the case of graphics triples it for example (ram, screen color production and viewing angles, speakers are superb even louder than an ipad, and you should get a longer battery life )

When is apple most likely to upgrade the ipod touch 4G?

I'm thinking of getting the ipod touch 4G, however I'm clueless on apple's product release cycle, I don't want to buy it only to have a new version released a few months later, ...I'm hoping an upgraded version would have a better camera, I love the 4G but the .7 megapixel camera almost kills it for me, should I wait or just get the 4G?

second is. 14.1MP. 4x optical zoom, sony camera- $119
and last is canon sx120- 10x optical zoom, 10mp. $129

which one do i choose?

Answer
never buy a camera for the brand! cameras change a lot from camera to camera!!! also generally speaking if you want good photos choose cameras with less megapixels and less zoom!!! the more megappixels the less sensitive (worse iq) a camera is! also when you have so much zoom in so little space they have to cramm in a ton of glass in a little area causing photos to be soft. for under 150 the best camera is the pentax optio h90. here is a review
http://www.dcresource.com/reviews/2010-budget-camera-shootout
buy it here for 110
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/673640-REG/Pentax_16501_Optio_H90_Digital_Camera.html/

our second otion would be the canon sx120 (the one you liked). here is a review

I'm thinking of getting this camera but I can't decide if this is a good choice or not(not the color though,I plan to get it in blue).I've heard that Kodak sucks so I also wanted to know if this is a good brand or not.I also saw the reviews and saw that it was pretty good..I'm only 14 so I don't need a really fancy camera, just a simple one to take pictures with friends and family.

Instead of kodak i would recommend you to go with nikon they are good and reliable the one i can suggest you is Nikon Coolpix S570 it has amazing features 12-megapixel resolution and

Good camera for taking professional looking pictures that doesnt cost so much?

highest megapixel small camera
on Top Digital Cameras Of 2012 | Highest Megapixel Camera
highest megapixel small camera image

adam29379

Im looking for a good digital camera I suppose...I need a camera that takes good pictures with a pretty high megapixel but doesn't cost too much. I know you can get a camera that costs $3000 but I dont have that kind of money. The camera will be for taking pictures of mostly dirt track racing and foot ball games. Please list specific cameras! I know cannons are good and Kodak.

Answer
The two genres that you list: racing and football are similar in this way: (1) there is fast movement and (2) you, the photographer, can't get as close to it as you would like. This means that the best camera for this would be one with little or no shutter lag, a fast autofocus, a reasonable burst rate, and a fast telephoto lens. The lens could cost as much as the camera body. Your budget, however, will not cover the cost of a suitable mid-tier dSLR and a good telephoto lens. So you may have to settle for a super-zoom compact camera. It will be more difficult to get good images, but you might be surprised at the quality that you do get. There are too many to list here. So go to http://dpreview.com for the reviews and recommendations.

Do not focus on megapixels, as any camera today will give you good images. In fact too many megapixels on a small sensor will be the exact opposite of what you need.

Lastly, the single most important factor for getting professional images is the ability of the photographer. An expensive camera is not a guarantee that you will get professional results if you don't know what you're doing.

What is the best camera out there with the most affordable price?

josh

small camera's too.

Answer
While most of the cameras out there are really good, I would choose Canon over Nikon because it seems like more camera for the money. Some would say Canon withholds their best technology for high end cameras and Nikon implements their best at all levels. Before you decide, read all the text and links in the information below because it will help you know what to look for in a camera.

There is no one particular place to get great buys, but you may see something below that really helps you find the best buy. Click on the first link in the information below for an example then search for your camera of choice at the upper left. Camera prices at this link change often.

Just saw this camera at Best Buy and think it is a great camera and a best buy. It has an optical viewfinder, image stabilizer, auto focus, and uses NiMH rechargeable batteries. Read as much of the following as you can for other information and help with choosing a camera.

There are so many cameras out there it is difficult to say which is best, but digital is definitely the way to go. The second source link will be very helpful as it list most of the cameras out there with prices. The following information should help you know what to look for in a camera.

What gives a camera its picture quality?
The short answer is that it is mostly the skill of the photographer that produces high quality pictures. The lens and camera are very important, but the ability to set the scene, adjust the cameras settings, and hold the camera very still or use a tripod with auto or remote shutter actuation when required is what gets the great pictures.

In new cameras, look for optical viewfinders (LCD invisible in bright sun) and check battery prices. High mega pixel settings take longer to process and may not be needed unless required for very large pictures or enlarging small parts of big pictures. Maximum print size for a 3 mega pixel setting is 8 x 10 inches.

The information about my camera is just to show that you don't need the biggest and best. Just know how to use the one you have.

My camera has 5.2 mega pixel, but I use 3 most of the time because it gives great results, is faster, and takes less memory. Also, it only has a 3 x optical zoom and 7 x digital zoom. I never use the digital zoom because making pictures larger works better on the computer. This is an old camera, but everyone is impressed with the quality pictures it takes ... like magic.

Check with the Geeks in several stores and compare prices. Ask what cameras they own, but don't believe everything you hear. Once you select a camera read all about it in the owner's manual. Just learned that my camera has red-eye prevention and correction. It also has adaptive lighting. You may be able to view owners manuals at this link, but will need to Login. http://www.retrevo.com/s/digital+camera ...

I need help finding a camera phone for Verizon?

highest megapixel camera phone verizon image

Hi. So My Grandma is looking for a new phone. She is on verizon and is an avid photographer. She really needs a good camera. But she doesn't want android or blackberry. Like a simple slider. Basically, great camera, simple phone.
THanks!

Answer
Great camera, simple phone?

Sad that an andriod is out because HTC came out with the Droid Incredible, which has a whopping 8MP camera.

I would recommend the LG chocolate TOUCH. It has a 3.2 megapixel camera and cost less than $30. It's a pretty easy to use phone, inexpensive with a high-quality camera for a feature phone (it's not a smartphone). My grandma has one similar to it. It has a 4.5 out of 5 rating on Verizon.

Q. I am an AVID Youtuber and for the last few months, I have been using my Droid RAZR HD to record all my videos. It has HD Camera capabilities but its just not hitting the spot. I am trying to get software to edit videos a whole lot better than I was doing with using Movie Maker on Windows.I just am trying to find a REALLY nice camera or DSLR or Video Camera that would be perfect besides my phone.

Answer
hey, i just posted a similar question. it looks like we are in the same boat, we have HD cameras that are actually not quite hd, i found this review on pcmag that may help you find your perfect camera. good luck, http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2355707,00.asp

my one is an hd logitec H900, stay away from it, its blurry and looks bad indoors
and also stay away from expensive dslr cameras, they take amazing photos but videos are misleading, i have a very expensive nikon srl with full hd, but it delivers another blurry and choppy quality video that looks really big on screen, and that is what most cameras are doing out there.. someone just mentioned to me to look for a sports camera, they seem to do the trick but they are not full hd, im starting to look at 720p (fills up half of a youtube page with a sharp video) maybe that is what we both need.

WHAT IS EVERYTHING I NEED FOR WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY?

Q. I want to buy a Dslr Camera and have been researching photography for weeks now. Everything is so expensive even some tripods are more expensive than cameras ? That's Crazy ! My budget is $2200 For everything. Camera, lens, tripod, filters, etc.
So what do you guys recommend? Such as Tripod, or canon over nikon ?

alllllie .

I wanna buy my first DSLR camera , but I don't know which one. What's a good brand ? & I need one in my price range which is $300 or less .

Answer
True you wont find one for under $450 unless its used or refurbished. Even if you had $450 to buy your first dslr, the nikon d40 is good but there might be something else on the market for a little more that fits your needs better like the canon 450d or a nikon d60. Save your money and get something really nice. Holding off and buying a better camera will be well worth it. Also check out Cameta's amazon store. When your ready they have kits that come with all types of accessories including back up batteries and lenses. Most of the kits give you a lot of bang for your buck at a price still lower then you average department store.

For a first time dslr user, is it a bad idea to buy used off of Ebay?

C.

I want to buy a dslr camera and have been looking for a good deal. I've found some pretty cheap, but nice cameras on Ebay from sellers with very good feedback. Do you think I should take a slight risk by buying used (but in nice shape) or should I just spend some more to buy a totally new one?

Answer
Hi Maggie,

I would say it depends on your experience level on using ebay and the type of account that is offering an item for sale. Some sellers are private individuals, some are Pawn Brokers or other resellers that offer items for sale on consignment (on behalf of others) and some are specialty dealers that only handle certain types of products. Another common occurrence for photographic equipment is to have retail camera dealers who accept "trade ins" for newer models and then dispose of the older cameras by selling on ebay.

The specialists often have industrial contacts for the type of equipment they sell and can offer warranties on those item and they, along with camera dealers, often have a better idea of reasonable prices and evaluations of condition.

I have purchased used or refurbished/demo equipment via ebay from two very reliable dealers Cameta Auctions and KEH. Both of these dealers offer warranties on many, but not all, of the products they sell and have established relationships with manufacturers to get parts and have repairs done by authorized service centers. KEH maintains an extensive, in house, repair facility. If you purchase from one of these companies you can be fairly confident that you will be treated fairly and get reasonable values for your money.

If you buy from retail camera stores you should expect them to have evaluated a camera's "suitability for purpose" and give you a fairly good idea of condition and working order. I would normally expect them to have a copy of the instruction manual (either a printed manual or a readable document on CD). I would not buy anything from such a store that didn't include a 7~10 day return privilege if you aren't satisfied with the purchase.

Buying from individuals can be very unpredictable but I have had very good luck with people when ever they have had high positive feedback over a period of time. If they have negative feedback I always find the negative reports and read them carefully. If bad reports appear to be cases of "buyer's remorse" or someone having unrealistic expectations I ignore them, otherwise I do not bid. My best experience was finding a set of lenses and camera that amounted to my "dream list" of most desired equipment that would have cost me about $3,800 ~ $4,200 to buy new. This was an "as is" auction from a pawn broker that I won for about $1,800, the only drawback was that one part was missing. It cost me about $100 to get that part replaced. I still use every bit of that equipment today and that was purchased about 4 years ago.

I will find links and add to source references below. I am a VERY EXPERIENCED buyer and have dozens of cameras and lenses that I have acquired over the past 45+ years so I am able to buy with great confidence but I have also coached others on how to find good values in camera equipment.

One technique I use is to go to the KEH online store and/or similar dealers to see how much I can buy any item being offered for auction for from their store. This helps me to be sure NOT to OVERBID on any items! Why risk buying an auction item from an unknown seller when I can buy it outright for less $$$ from a dealer who will guarantee what they sell?

Hope that helps. Feel free to email me if you need more help.

How much would you sell this camera for on eBay?

Q. I have a Nikon N6006 and I am looking to upgrade. I looked on eBay & I see no one sells it for more than 100 - 200 dollars. I was wondering how much you would sell it for.
They will be getting the camera, a Sigma Auto Focus Lens, a carrying case, the manual, & cleaning wipes. And all this for only 100 dollars? That doesn't seem right.

Answer
Start the auction at $0.01. It will sell for what its worth. A 35mm film camera is not worth much. I got a new EOS K2 with a 28-90mm zoom lens for $44 on clearance at Best Buy a year ago.

Frankly, the lens is probably worth more than the camera and you can use it on Nikon DLSR's to boot. The carrying case can also be used for your DSLR. I would keep everything but the body and get what you can for it. Otherwise wrap it up and put it in your attic. It's probably worth more there than what you can get for it.

How do i sneak my camera into a concert?

Brock

a few months ago i saw august burns red and i brought my camera (it wasn't a "professional" camera aka dslr, but it looked exactly like one) in like a small backpack and i just wrapped my camera in a shirt. Security looked inside my bag and i'm pretty sure she saw the strap to my camera but she didn't say anything about it. In January, i'm going to see of mice & men but at a bit of a bigger venue. I want to take my dslr, do you think i could take my backpack and wrap the body in a shirt again and just put the lens in my bra?
i know it's """risky""" but i don't care. I just want decent pictures and videos.

Answer
Try it, but understand you're risking losing your camera. Why don't you use your phone like everyone else does?

Q. I mean like, can we produce beautiful images using common camera as if it were taken using DSLR camera used by most photographers?

Answer
yes. it is possible to take just as good pictures with a point and shoot, however there are more limitations, so you can't take the variety of good pictures that you can with a dslr. the ability to change lenses and add filters on a dslr widens the range of things you can do greatly. in addition, dslr's often have greater latitude in things like shutter speed, aperture, etc . which gives you greater ability to take pictures in more conditions. they are simply better cameras which allow you to do more things. a good photographer can take good images with almost any camera, but each camera has its own limitations. the better the camera, the less limitations.

Astrophotography preference CCD or DSLR cameras which is better for taking star pictures?

discoverth

While becoming interested in astrophotography I wounder aloud should I use a CCD momochrome with color filters, a color CCD or a DSLR camera.

I only want to take star pictures so a cross functional DSLR camera would have to out perform ccd options for it to qualify as a choice.

My budget is 5000 for getting started. Camera, telescope, filters and laptop if possible.

Thanks

Answer
The CCD astro camera will outperform a DSLR on the sky. The main advantages of the DSLR are that you can use it without a computer, and it's available for normal photography also. At the low end of the price range, the DSLR will also give you more pixels, but this is not necessarily a good thing. The tiny pixels in small-format DSLRs are not well-matched to the image scale of most telescopes, and will be considerably noisier than the larger pixels in an astrocamera.

The advantages of the CCD astrocamera include lower noise, better Hα sensitivity (Hα is the red light that dominates many emission nebulae), and better integration with your image processing software.

The use of filters will complicate things slightly, but also add more options, like using narrowband filters to bring out the contrast of nebulae. You can always shoot in plain monochrome to start with.

why would a photograph of an offset printed piece show a moire pattern?

highest megapixel camera
on Features - AT&T Cell Phones SGH-I997 | Samsung Cell Phones
highest megapixel camera image

4thtennenb

the printed piece to the naked eye doesnt show a moire pattern. it is definitely the printed pieces' line screen as the solid/pantone color and the rest of the image that isn't printed looks fine.

it's also a very high megapixel camera set up/ pro quality.

Answer
If you look at the image with a magnifying glass, you will see that it is actually made up of tiny colored dots that are too small for the eye to notice. If it's a black and white image, they will be shades of gray. Your high-megapixel camera, however, can see the dots because it has millions of pixels that are even smaller than the dots. The moire pattern is due to the printed dots falling in and out of phase with the sensor's pixels.

You could try putting the image part slightly out of focus, which would smear out the linear frequency differences. You might also try shooting the image part at lower resolution. In either case, you'd have to layer it back into to larger work.

Is there a way you can make photos look higher quality?

coolkid999

I have some photos that are high quality but is there any way to make them look even clearer as if they were taken by a higher megapixel camera?

Answer
More megapixels does not make pictures clearer unless you're taking a very small piece of the picture and blowing it up. Its about precise focus, fast enough shutter speeds and great glass when it comes to taking clear pictures. My 5MP Olympus C5050 takes pictures as clear as any of my DSLR's, maybe better in some cases. I don't have as much latitude to do large prints with it, but in terms of clarity and quality overall, its remarkable. I have done larger prints with it, but natively right out of the camera, no. Sometimes, for some shots, you can intentionally soften the picture giving the pic an "artistic" feel, so that the focus becomes more secondary. The shot has to be the right kind of mood to pull it off though, it doesn't work with anything. I've done it to save shots that I really loved, but as they were they just didn't work. Here's an example.

http://www.pbase.com/inspzil/image/18396218

Its not a perfect system, but if you have something that's good, but not perfect, it can at least make it salvageable. Upsizing them in photoshop will effectively make them more megapixels, but it won't make them any clearer. You just have to take them as clear as possible. Sharpening pics after the fact most of the time has no effect, or a negative effect on the image. The only time I've found it to be effective is when shrinking an image down, you can hit sharpen once to make it clearer. Good Luck.
