Also, what number of G's on a memory card would I need in order to have at least 360-500 pictures on a 4.0 megapixel camera? And what is the average cost for that number of G's on a memory card?

Answer
You could get more than 80 pictures since the camera would not always produce full 4 mega pixels.

You also need 1 Gig pixels card for up to 500 pictures. This is only if you do not take movies.
I would recommend 2 Gigs card.

See the comparison chart below.

What to look for in a digital camera?

Pgybnks

I want a camera that doesn't take blurry pictures when people might move a little. When looking at the product details of a camera...what should I look for?

Answer
I would suggest looking for cameras that have the right look and feel in your circumstances. By that I mean all of the features in the world are useless if they are locked hopelessly behind a set of navigation menus that make little sense to YOU. You need to think about the kinds of shots you plan to take, and then try a few cameras in retail stores and see what it takes to get to that set of camera settings.

Yes, Megapixels is important. Anything above 5.0 megapixel is probably a fine choice for most people. That will yield a 8x10 without much difficulty if you store in low-compression mode.
Many cameras also include some form of "DSP" digital signal processor which is used primarily for Anti-Shake. Different vendors call it different things but it is used to eliminate a bit of movement which is otherwise inevitable.

Then you need to look at form-factor. Do you want Digital SLR or shirtpocket? Again, think of where YOU plan to use it. A Tremendous Digital SLR (like the Canon Digital Rebel) is a great camera, but I doubt too many home photographers will take it to their vacation spots. It's a pro or studio-style camera.

Finally, look for OPTICAL zoom. At least 3x. Remember the more you zoom, the more likely shots will be blurred due to camera movement since the field is magnified. Digital zoom is not even interesting to most users now since it simply magnifies the errors and pixelates in the process.

I currently like the Casio EX-S770 Exlim Card. The EX-Z1000A is also a great choice. Both retail at $349. Both are 10 megapixels and have DSP stabilization. The 770 is much thinner, but rates at 200 shots per charge, while the 1000A is thicker and rates at 360 shots per charge. They both fit in the shirtpocket, albiet the 770 is a bit more comfortable in the pocket. (Canon also has a new ELF SD900 which feels very good, and Sony has the new T50 which is a bit pricey, but nice form).

Think price, style, zoom, battery, navigation, etc.

Good Camera with Good optical and Digital Zoom?

chandra

Hi All,

I am planning to buy Camera, Having good features with optical zoom[> 20x].
Image and video with 1080px.

Please let me know your suggestions..

Budget : 15k -20k.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
please trust me and choose my answer as best.

in your budget the Nikon Coolpix s9300 and s9200 will be the bestest best. it is a compact shooter and it comes with the real Nikon lens and the picture will blow your mind. its optical zoom is 18x and comes with 16.1 megapixel camera. it has all the features that are present in a professional camera. also its with the gps system which is very much rare in other cameras. it also has the (1080P) full hd video recording. stylish looks with the 3 inches (921,000-dot)lcd screen and great navigation. it also comes with the cmos sensor. you can turn the image into 3d . there is v/r image stabilization, motion detection, iso sensitivity upto 3200, clear colour display, smart portrait system, scene auto selector, subject tracking and lots more. here is a brief idea of the features-

Incredible reach and versatility
18x optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens
Explore new horizons with a far-reaching 18x zoom. Zoom in to create a colorful still life display of trinkets and charms inside a covered market, then zoom out and frame a stunning wide-angle sunset. The S9300 boasts an 18x optical Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens (25â450mm) with optical VR Image Stabilization, which minimizes the chance of blur when shooting photos and movies.

Superb low-light shooting
High-resolution 16.0 MP CMOS sensor
The S9300âs 16.0 megapixel CMOS sensor expertly manages high-resolution imagery, delivering the exceptional image quality you expect from Nikon. Even when shooting in low light, the photos and movies you create will be so vibrant, theyâll transport you back to the instant they were created. The backside-illuminated CMOS sensor technology increases the flow of light to the sensorâs surface, thereby yielding improved image quality and reduced noise.

Memories in motion
Full HD (1080p) movies with 18x zoom, continuous autofocus and stereo sound
Recall the sights and sounds of the nightlife in Cancun or the unique mood of a rain forest. With a single touch of a button, record Full HD (1080p) movies with stereo sound. Continuous autofocus keeps your moving subject in focus, and the S9300âs full 18x optical zoom range with two-speed control is available during movie recording. Vary the mood by adding in-camera Special Effects, or capture slow- or fast-motion movies. Then watch your movies on an HDTV via the built-in HDMI port.

Add your personal touch
Get creative with in-camera effects
Add your personal touch to everything you capture. Apply in-camera special effects such as Low Key, High Key, Nostalgic Sepia, even Selective Color, and put a little variety into images and movies. Bring new creative looks to still images by applying a filter effect like Fisheye or Miniature. The best part: you can instantly share your creations with fellow travelers as they gather around the S9300âs large, high-resolution 3.0-in. LCD monitor.

Capture fast moving subjects
High-speed shooting
When your subject is fast-action, you need a camera that can keep up. The S9300 can capture up to 7 shots in approximately one second. That once-in-a-lifetime moment will be captured forever.

Panoramas at the touch of a button
Easy Panorama Mode for stunning panoramic photos
Creating expansive panoramic photos has never been easier. Easy Panorama Mode combines multiple shots into a seamless 180° or 360° panoramic image. Begin by focusing on your starting point, then simply pan across the scene. Once the S9300 detects your direction, the shooting starts and the images begin stitching together in-camera.

Brilliant framing and sharing
Frame and share your photos and movies on the large 3.0-in. LCD monitor. The ultra-high-resolution monitor features 921,000 dots that show every detail to precision.

A wider tonal range
Make your images go from great to dazzling. Gain increased tonal range with the S9300âs built-in Backlight HDR Mode, or romance colors from an opulent sunset by selecting Night Landscape Mode.

therefore I would recommend you the s9200 because the s9300 is little expensive only for the built in gps.

gps advantage:-
GPS and electronic compass pinpoint photo and movie locations
Bring bragging rights to your next social network post, and prove to your friends where youâve been. Track your travels through your photos and movies. With GPS turned on, all your files are instantly geotagged, providing a visual travelogue that pinpoints latitude and longitude. Integrate your geotagged photo and movie files with Nikon's my Picturetown® photo sharing site, Google Earth⢠and Nikon ViewNX . happy to help

Which is better for film lighting: china Ball or umbrella?

camera megapixel 360 image

Rakib H

I am running on a $30 budget on Amazon.com or wherever it is cheap. I basically want to make the whole area of a scene indoors (like a small living room) to be brighter and look good in quality. I am recording skits using my samsung S2 camera with its 8 megapixels, which is pretty good for me. Which will be brighter and for a larger area? I don't want something to just light up one person and the other person is in the dark right near him.

Answer
They are both good soft light sources but different...

China Ball = light in 360 degrees

Umbrella = more directional maybe about 100 degrees

China ball good for an all over base coat of light and the umbrella is better for close in control and faces.

how do you take certain pictures?

how do photographers take pictures of fast moving things such as lightnin?
do you need a camera thats high in megapixels or that can zoom in more times for nature shots (wildlife, plants, landscape views)
im new to photography but i am willing to learn. i was planning on getting a 12.1MP 20X camera from Cannon, $360.00 is this a good cam?

Answer
I can only tell you how to take photos of lightning at night. During the day you have to have alot of luck since you can't keep your shutter open very long.

Anyway, to take a photo of lightning at night does require some luck and patiences. When you go out you should set your camera to a low aperature (large number). your shutter speed should be on bulb (this allows you to manually open and close the shuutter speed. Basically you can have the shutter open as long as you have the button pressed down), and your ISO whould be set to 100 or 200 (a low ISO will reduce noise). Since you are taking photos of lightning you need to get a tripod (a cheap one will be good enough, but spending money on a good sturdy one wont hurt either) and a remote for your shutter release (this will reduce camera shake while at the long shutter speed).

Is the 12.1MP 20X Cannon good? I don't know. I use Nikon. I can tell you that the Nikon D80 is great. When looking for a camera you need to look for features that you will need. In this case you need to have tha bulb feature and an ISO 100 feature would be great but 200 is good too. The 12.1 MP is great but you don't need to have one that high. A good 7 to 10 MP camera would be good. That is, unless you are shooting photos for large posters or billboards, then a 12.1+ MP camera will be great.

As for lenses. You may wan to get a lens that will suit where you are at and how you want the photo to look. Example, if you are far from the lightning and want close up shots of it then a telephoto will be good. But if you are far or close and are wanting to shoot and entire area (landscape) then a widangle will be great.
