Does the iRig mic work when plugged into a DSLR camera when capturing video?

I was looking to find a cheap external mic and this one looked good, but does it work with a Canon Rebel t1i?

Answer
The Canon T1i does not accept external mics.
However, you can mod the camera (if you're feeling adventurous).

what is a good dslr camera that has video?

I'm looking for a DSLR camera that has video, I was looking into the Nikon D3100 or the Canon T3i BUT I like how the T3i Has the flip part of the camera so you can see your self while recording. (from my research I saw that the D3100 doesn't have that) I'm not sure if anyone knows of any that are better, that won't cost an arm and a leg. My budget is approx $800

As of right now I have the Nikon D3000 but.... I decided on selling it so I can upgrade, I want a camera that is good for photography and videos..... Help please?

Answer
By keeping in view your requirements and your mentioned budget, i would recommend you the Nikon D5100. It has advanced features then the Canon T3i. The D5100 has a slight edge
(0.6 f-stops) in low noise, high ISO performance (1183 ISO). D5100 has Significantly better image quality (80.0) and has a 13 EV dynamic range. D5100 also Distinguishes 1.4 more bits of color
D5100's movies are look great, with smooth motion and impressively low noise in dim light. It has In camera HDR which Combines multiple exposures to capture high dynamic range. D5100 has APS-C 23.6x15.6mm sensor, which is much larger than T3i. It has 3x less delay when turning on. It has contrast detection video autofocus which automatically focuses video shooting. The D5100's boost ISO is 1 f-stop better (25600 ISO) and has 11 focus points which Set focus accurately within the frame. the following link will help you to decide about this camera.

It has 3-inch, 921,000-dot Super-Density horizontal type Vari-Angle LCD Monitor. It has In-camera Special Effects Mode, n-camera HDR (High Dynamic Range), Stunning Full 1080p HD and Movies with Full Time Autofocus. ISO Sensitivity: 100-6400 (Extended Mode: 100-25600)
