Best Camera Choice for my purposes?

0bviousMan

I'm pretty interested in film, have made a handful of short films myself, and collaborate with a friend on making feature length films.

I've been out of the game myself because I lack a really good camera. For a long time I was set on the Panasonic HMC150, until recently, when my friend (who owns a JVC ay-HD100) recommended getting a DSLR such as the Canon 7D.

But I'm still not sure what the best option for me is. Dedicated HD camcorder like the hmc150, or a DSLR with exceptional HD video.

I need a 60fps camera, any suggestions?

rodanm2004

I have a Nikon D3100 and a JVC everio HD camcorder. As far as i know they only shoot 30fps, I need a good 60 fps camera, any suggestions? or does anyone have suggestions for making proper slow motion shots with the cameras i have?i tried twixtor but it was confusing and apparently only works with 60fps. please help!.

Answer
I personally suggest DSLR because that's the best of one world and better of the other.

In case of SLRs, If you need a Canon 7D to get Full HD at 60 fps. Or, 60D or Rebel T2i/T3i for 60 fps at HD

Nikon D5100 for 60 fps HD

Twixtor is a good way of getting high fps. But it works on any framerate not only 60p!

And if you are really serious about Full HD videos and don't need photo or have another camera for taking pictures, then Look at the Panasonic TM-900. Canon XA10 or Sony NEX VG10 semi pro camcorders.
