should I get the 7.2 or 8.1 megapixel camera?

whokid

Im trying to make up my mind between a 7.2 casio digital camera ($149.00) vs a 8.1 casio digital camera($219.00) both are the same style, and only difference is the megapixels. My wife will be taking pictures and making maybe printouts of about 8 or 10 inches wide max, what do you recommend?

Answer
It will not matter. Pixel count is only half the equation. The other half is the size of the sensor.

You will see no difference in images from either one .. even when printed to 11x14 inches

You will see that the Z77 actually has a more powerful flash.

My vote goes for that one

Does anyone have a Sony Cybershot 7.2 megapixel Digital Camera?

Missy A

Im asking because i have one and it has video recording on it but i cant figure out how to take it from the camera to a disk. Or if it even does that, i dont understand the instructions too well, (not electronically inclined) I have something very important to record Dec.9 and would like to be able to put it on a disk so the family can watch it at a later date. Can anyone help me?

Answer
I have that camera too. Put the camera in video mode and record it, then save it to your computer using the link cable. It should come out as a wmv file or something that the computer can play using Windows Media Player. The Windows Media Player can burn this to a disk for you. Just make sure its a DVD, not a CD. Good luck! If you need any further help, email me from my profile, I'll be glad to help you.

Which camera is better 1.3 Megapixel webcam or video camera of an iphone 3gs?

Im only asking because my webcam on my laptop records like crap. It's really grainy and what not. I thought about getting the iphone 3gs anyways

Answer
HD camcorders interpolate the video, which means of every 25 frames of video, 4 or 5 frames are taken by the lens assembly; the other frames in between these are filled in by the camcorder inner circuitry, thus giving you not true video. It looks like this -one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, one frame from the lens assembly, 7or 8 from the electronic circuitry, from front to back of the video. Near impossible to edit, even when you have the Multi port processor computer with the big 1GB Graphics card and a Sound card that is required to edit, view, watch and work with the files these camcorders produce.

Consumer level HD camcorders have 4 problems. 1) Blurry, fuzzy, out of focus areas closely around people in videos taken by consumer level HD camcorders. 2) Any movement, even a wave or lifting an arm, while in front of a recording consumer level HD camcorder, results in screen ghosts and artifacts being left on the video track, following the movement. Makes for bad video, sports videos are unwatchable. 3) These Consumer level HD camcorders all have a habit of the transferred to computer files are something you need to convert, thus losing your HD quality, to work with your editing software. 4) Mandatory maximum record times - 1 hour, 30 minutes, 8 minutes, 3 minutes â four different times advertised as maximum record time for some consumer level HD camcorders. No event I have ever been to is that short. Either take multiple camcorders or pack up with out getting the end of the event on video.

MiniDV is currently the most popular format for consumer digital camcorders. MiniDV camcorders are typically more affordable than their HDD and DVD counterparts. Each MiniDV tape will typically hold an hour of footage at normal recording speed and quality. MiniDV tapes are available for purchase at not only electronic and camera stores, but also at drugs stores and grocery stores, making them easy to find while your on vacation. There are literally hundreds of MiniDV camcorders available; both in standard and high-definition. And add the fact that to get a HD camcorder that could produce better video quality footage, one would have to spend in excess of $3500 for that camcorder that could produce higher quality video.

Why do pictures on iPhone 3gs look sharper than on other 3 megapixel cameras?

Eric

I was just wondering, because in the past for taking social networking photos I had been using an 8 megapixel Kodak standalone camera and the quality is comparable despite some minor differences in detail. That is to be expected of course, but the camera model is from 2007. However, I have had a phone for a couple years now which is a Samsung (none smart phone) that had a qwerty keyboard.. And it's next to impossible to distinguish any clarity from the photos. Why? Does some difference exist within the hardware that would allow one 3mp camera to look better than the other?

Answer
Yeah, as the other person said, it's not just about the pixels. And that's what Apple has always said. You could have a 0824352375082357MGP camera, but without the right lens and all the other good stuff, it's junk
