Why can't I find an Android Camera app that lets me control exposure?

I can't fathom why I'm unable to find a single Android camera app that allows manual exposure control. Is there a hardware limitation that prevents the shutter speed from changing or something?

The built in Android camera actually has 7 different exposure settings (+/- 6) but if you're using the flash, it seems to completely ignore these settings. I'm quite frustrated, all I want to do is take decent pictures without having to pull out my DSLR for simple things such as ebay auctions, but I can't! Half of the pictures taken with the native Android camera app are either over exposed if I use the flash, or blurred if I try to take it in low light settings. Or if I have it setting still, the image is filled with noise (from an ISO setting that's too high I'm assuming).

I'm not asking or even expecting to be able to do everything with an android camera that I can with a DSLR, all I'm asking for is actual exposure control of some sort.

So is there an actual good reason as to why no android app exist that allows one to do this? I've found a few that claim it, but none of the ones I've tried actually had the feature. Most of the apps just go on and on about effects. :\

try to install some 4-5 star rated camera apps and one of them surely have that mode.

Can I use an iPad as an external monitor when I'm shooting with my DSLR?

So I am shooting a video with DSLR and I was wondering if I can connect an iPad to my DSLR camera (Canon t3i) and use it as an external monitor with an HDMI cable or something. I am not interested in using the Air Display app method because that only works under Wi-Fi. I plan to do a lot of shooting outdoors in big dead spots.

With a PC you use the EOS control software supplied with the camera and connect using USB. It works very well with my small LApTop. It allows full live view on the monitor, time lapse and allows full control of most functions on the camera.

Not sure if the iPad can run that software. Contact Canon to enquire if it will.

What is a good camera app for action shots?

I am a dancer and I love to take dance pictures and all of that stuff! I love to catch myself in jumps and leaps but it seems to take FOREVER to catch! I have gotten the perfect picture about twice in about 1 year or so. I am wondering if there is a camera app that takes a bunch of pictures at once?!?! One that kind of shutters!?!?! Any suggestions?

The cameras in the iPad really are not fully adjustable. You need a dSLR to have those controls.

What I do like about the iPad is how it records video. If it had a tripod mount, it would be sweet.

Is there anyway to record video with a dslr camera and record with a lets say, Blue company mic?

I want to start posting covers on youtube. I want to use my future to be. nikon d5100 dslr camera but use a preferably company, blue mic. Is that possible??? I dont have a mac for now. And my computers camera is very poor. Any suggestions/answers???

Most DSLRs that record video have a jack to allow for mic input too.

Or you can use a separate audio recorder like they have done for more than 100 years in the film world.

The key is to have something that is instantaneous, visual, AND audible. The classic tool for this is the movie slate board (or clapper), there is a $25 ipod app for this, or go analog with one like this...http://ticklespop.com/holmovfildir.html

Or simply clap your hands together in a deliberate fashion.

The slate gives a visual mark on the video, and an audible mark on the audio recorder. Then you just simply alight the audio track to the video track with editing software.
