verizon droid X or Thunderbolt?

Aj

Im going to upgrade to a smartphone. Im deciding between the Droid X or the Thunderbolt. Which should i pick and why? What would you choose?

They both have different features i would want but need to choose one.

Answer
The DROID X by Motorola is a smartphone built for a fantastic video watching experience; it's essentially a pocket-sized home theater and the ability to view it directly on your HD TV at home via an optional HDMI cable. Experience the web like never before with Flash-capable viewing and a blazing fast 1GHz processor. The advanced 8 megapixel camera with dual flash snaps impressive pictures that you can send to friends and family via multimedia messaging, email, or upload them directly to your favorite social networking site. Combine all that with Swype, high-speed mobile browsing, 3G Mobile HotSpot and a 1GHz processor and this DROID X is extreme. It's FREE NOW on www.wirefly.com

The Android-powered ThunderBolt by HTC is Verizon's first 4G LTE smartphone. The ThunderBolt is on Verizon's lightning-fast 4G LTE Network and has a next-generation processor so you can do more with your phone, in more places. The front-facing camera is great for videochatting, while the 8 megapixel primary camera records in HD for amazing photos and videos on the go. Use the camera's Live Filters to manipulate photos and videos while in the moment. When you are ready, share your images easily with messaging, DLNA streaming to your compatible HD TV, or quickly tag and upload to Facebook or YouTube. Connect up to 8 WiFi-enabled devices to the internet with Verizon's Mobile Hotspot - Free from Verizon Wireless until May 15, 2011. You can talk and do more with this very smart smartphone.

How much money should I budget for Ghost Hunting Gear?

Becky

I'm discovering some great online ghost hunting stores. Now I'm wondering what people are budgeting for their ghost hunts? How much money is going to get me a good ghost hunt investigation?

Thanks for the help!

Answer
As Iâm sure youâve realized, this depends what you would like to use to âhunt ghosts.â Of course the answer to that depends greatly on what you would like to get out of âghost hunting.â Alright, so enough answering a question with more questions.

The costs begin with free! Thatâs right, I highly recommend those new to the âghost huntingâ field to utilize what they have around the house. Most people have access to a camera, or camera/phone. Obviously the more you spend the more quality your photograph and any potential anomalous data acquired will have. There are some fairly decent entry level digital cameras for sale today (*2012) for around $100 and up. There are a ton of options you will want to familiarize yourself with first. This goes for cameras or some of the more specific tools you see on the ghost hunting TV shows. Having worked with most of the networks and production companies, I can say that what you see on TV isnât always the best direction to go with your own âghost hunting.â

To get straight to your question (too late):
Infrared Thermometer $15
Infrared Thermometer with PC interface and K-Type Probe $250+ (recommend this one)
Digital Camera $15
Digital Camera with glass lens, Infrared illuminators and high Megapixels $150+ (recommend this one)
3D Digital Camera $200+ (recommend this one)
Single Axis EMF Meter $20
Three Axis Data logging pc interface EMF Meter $300+ (recommend this one)
Dowsing rods $20+

Alright so I could go on, but it would be easier to direct you a site that you could click through the store for free (full disclosureâ¦my website). http://GetGhostGear.com Visit there and find a ton of articles with pictures and âas seen on TVâ equipment (as many TV shows have gotten their equipment from me). Become an informed consumer and check out the HUGE and FREE list of ghost hunting equipment here http://getghostgear.com/gear-list-with-images.html

All you have to do is click on the ghost hunting equipment picture, learn more about it, and then click another link there if you want to purchase it. We donât recommend all of the equipment, just for the record so if you want our advice, read the articles first! Iâll include a bio about myself and my background so you know where your information is here is coming from (even if you don't shop from us, know who you are shopping with).

Hope this helps, and start saving those pennies. Get out in the field (safely) first and see what you think you need from there!

Tell me everything you know about iphone 5.?

Sehajdeep

About release date and new features and specifications.

Answer
A new rumor contradicting the previous â4.2 inches screenâ old one has surfaced, courtesy of DigiTimes. According to their source, a big panel supplier, the upcoming deviceâs screen will measure less than 4 inches and will be somewhere in the 3.5-3.7 inch range.

If the newest rumors are true, and the new iPhone will get a 3.5-3.7 inch display, then it may be possible that weâll actually only see a 4S this Fall, but if they do come out with a 4.2 inch screen, the iPhone 5 will look a lot different than the current 3.5 inch display iPhone 4 and will be on par with most current smartphones.
It also looks like the back side design will be changed. The current reinforced glass chassis will be changed to a metal one.

Just like with any other rumor out there, no one can tell for sure how the iPhone 5 will look like, what its capabilities will be, or who will carry it besides AT&T and Verizon. Hopefully, the latest rumored release date, October 7th, will prove to be true. Until then, we can only hope that Apple will make the right decision and bring us an iPhone that will rival any other smart phone currently on the market.
Rumors of a both GSM and CDMA Apple smartphone have been around since 2009, but at that time, analysts believed that an iPhone carrying Qualcommâs dual-carrier chip will not be available earlier than 2011. Well, it is 2011, and while we still donât have any official specifications for the iPhone 5 yet, it seems that it will be a global phone.

According to a recent report, an app developer, who preferred not to give up the name of the app or his name, has proof that iPhone 5 will be a dual-mode world phone. The proof that was sent to one of the reporters at TechCrunch consists of a few application usage logs, which show that recently several people were testing the app using a single, new Apple gadget that certainly is a GSM-CDMA phone. The logs also show that the device that was used to register for the app was running on Appleâs upcoming iOS 5, and it used the 2 individual codes that identifying mobile networks: MNC (mobile network codes) and MCC (mobile county codes). MNC/MCC codes are the unique codes for Verizon and AT&T networks.

If indeed these recent statements are true, then iPhone 5 will be Appleâs first phone to support both GSM and CDMA. All iPhones were only GSM phones until February of 2011, when Apple released the iPhone 4 CDMA for Verizon. It is also believed that Apple will make the iPhone 4 available on Sprint this October. Sprint uses the same CDMA technology as Verizon.

The iPhone 5 is expected to arrive on Sprint, AT&T and Verizon in October, and the device is supposed to get an improved camera, but not a front facing LED flash. The fifth generation Apple smartphone, that may even be called iPhone 4S, will probably resemble the iPhone 4, but fans are hoping that it will be lighter and slimmer than its predecessor.

Not surprisingly, quite a bit about the Apple iPhone 5 still remains unknown.

The iPhone 4 comes in the same storage capacities as its predecessor, the iPhone 3GS: 16 GB or 32 GB. Will the next version be the first with 64 GB of internal storage? No one knows.

Apple's current smartphone has a 5 megapixel camera, while some of its competitors offer 8 MPx ones or even 12 MPx. This raises the possibility that a higher-resolution camera could be in the next version.

A full description of the iPhone 5 likely won't be available until the official unveiling, which is widely expected to come this summer. Apple has launched a new or updated smartphone in early summer every year since 2007, and after such a trend, there's no reason to think 2011 is going to be any different.

Android Bionic vs. iPhone 5?

VJames

Answer
Up till now, the Samsung Galaxy S 2 has been slated to be iPhone 5's top contender, given its solid sales outside the U.S. But tech pundits can't afford to count out Motorola's Droid Bionic, which was released well ahead of iPhone 5.

Motorola Droid Bionic was released Sept. 8. Powered by Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread OS, the phone is completely modified from the original one introduced during CES 2011. Some of its key features include a 4.3-inch HD screen with a Corning Gorilla scratch-free screen; two cameras, front-facing for video chat and 8-megapixel back camera; Adobe Flash preloaded; 32 GB of memory and a slim frame. The iPhone 5 is most likely to feature the latest iOS 5 operating system, the A5 processor found in iPad 2, a higher megapixel camera compared to the iPhone 4 and a slimmer and thinner design. According to a Bloomberg report, Apple's next version will have an 8-megapixel camera and 1080p video recording, along with dual-LED flash.Motorola Droid Bionic can score over iPhone 5

Iphone 5 or Samsung Galaxy s4?

KRS

I have a phone upgrade so I kinda need some help picking out a phone. I'm a 15 year old girl and all I really use my phone for is instagram, facebook, twitter, tumblr, youtube, pandora, photography and picture editing apps at times, etc... I recently bought an iphone 3gs off ebay for like 50 dollars so I can see if I like ios and the iphone. I used to have the att impulse 4g but it broke, so that's why I bought the 3gs. Anyways, personally after using the 3gs for about 3 to 4 months I found ios to be quite boring and lacking much of the customization I wanted. All you can customize on ios is your wallpaper/lock screen. It made me really miss andriod. I am at this point leaning a bit more towards the galaxy because of the 13 megapixel camera. I also miss the widgets and such. The only thing I really liked about the iphone was how high security it was, the app store, and the emoji keyboard. My 2 aunts and cousin have the galaxy s3 and I've played around with theirs and I've grown fond of the galaxy and it's beautiful screen. My mom has the iphone 4s and to be honest the only thing I like about it is the camera and siri + the stuff mentioned above. Please help me, all of my friends have iphones, and I kinda want to be different by getting a galaxy, but I like the emoji's and siri on the iphone.
Oh, and I like how the gs4 has expandable memory for me that is pretty important.

Answer
If you rephrased your question it would read
"SGS II lite or S IV

Definitely NOT an IP5 as I don't want to downgrade

Reasons
1)The Samsung Galaxy S II (2)was released in MAY 2011 & has 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor with an 8Mp camera.

18 months later November 2012 Apple puts a 1.2Ghz Dual Core processor & 8Mp camera in a phone and call it the IP5

2)The SGS II is the Dual Core version of the Quad Core SGS III both SGS II & SGS III have won 6 PHONE OF THE YEAR AWARDS.

3)The SGS II is superior and has features not even on the Uber expensive IPhone5.
Not MY opinion proof http://www.gsmarena.com/compare.php3?idPhone1=3621&idPhone2=4238

4) ALL NON APPLE phones have BLUETOOTH MEDIA TRANSFER (SHARING) photos / music cannot be shared if one phone is an iPhone

5-12) http://finance.yahoo.com/news/8-things-the-iphone-5-still-can-t-do.html?_view=desktop&desktop_view_default=true

The BEST DUAL CORE PHONE MADE BY SAMSUNG TO DATE UNTIL THE S4 MINI comes along is the SGS II, half the price TWICE AS GOOD, those 8 things yes you've guessed it SGS II, CAN DO.

Or put another way the 5th Samsung phone is superior to the best iPhone
S IV; SGS III & NOTE 2 [Quad Core] S 4Mini SGS II

The IP5 IS OVERPRICED, many EG BB Z10 are vastly superior. The S 4Mini & BB Z10 are Dual Core phones masquerading as a Quad Core so impressive are the specs . Just behind them are Windows 8 phones, and those are the Dual Core phone of which the IP5 is.
And we have not even mentioned the Quad Core phones which the IP5 costs MORE to get

Apple is years behind

What's the best phone on verizon that doesn't need a data plan?

State the phone and the pros/ cons

Answer
The good: The HTC ThunderBolt offers incredibly fast 4G data speeds. The Android 2.2 smartphone also supports simultaneous voice and data over 3G and boasts a large 4.3-inch touch screen, ample storage, and an excellent camera.

The bad: Battery life takes a big hit when using 4G. There is no way to toggle between 3G and 4G.

The bottom line: The HTC ThunderBolt lights up with blazingly fast data speeds, but those who want 4G now should be aware that it takes a big toll on the smartphone's battery life.

Photo gallery: HTC ThunderBolt (Verizon Wireless)
Photo gallery:
HTC ThunderBolt (Verizon Wireless)

Introduced at CES 2011, the HTC ThunderBolt is Verizon's first 4G LTE, and it's finally available for $249.99 with a two-year contract. The Android 2.2 smartphone might not offer the latest and greatest (e.g., dual-core processor), but with the carrier promising average download speeds of 5Mbps to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps, it's no surprise why many are clamoring to get their hands on this device. This includes us, which is why we were so excited to take the HTC ThunderBolt out for a test-drive. The lightning-fast smartphone delivers on many fronts, but it also comes at a cost.

Design
The HTC ThunderBolt is cut from the same cloth as the HTC Evo 4G and the HTC Desire HD, so if you've ever handled those devices, then you have a fairly good idea of what to expect from the ThunderBolt.

At 4.75 inches tall by 2.44 inches wide by 0.56 inch thick and 6.23 ounces, the ThunderBolt isn't for those who prefer dainty devices. The smartphone is large and actually slightly thicker and heavier than the Evo, but it's manageable and the tapered back and soft-touch finish make it comfortable to hold in the hand. As we've come to expect from HTC, the phone is solidly built and has a nice, premium feel to it.

On front, you've got the same 4.3-inch WVGA (800x480 pixels) touch screen as the Evo. There are higher-resolution displays out there, like those on the Motorola Atrix 4G or iPhone 4, but the ThunderBolt's screen still holds up, with clear and bright picture quality. Text was easy to read, and Web pages and video looked lovely on the large screen.

The touch screen is also responsive. Apps launched as we tapped them, and we were able to smoothly navigate through the home screens and menus. The display also features a proximity sensor and built-in accelerometer, which was quick to change screen orientation when we rotated the phone.

The front-facing camera sits right above the screen on the right; below the display are the home, menu, back, and search navigation buttons. Meanwhile, the 8-megapixel camera and flash are located on back, but we really wish there was a dedicated camera button on the phone. Instead, you'll have to use the touch screen to snap photos.

On the bright side, the ThunderBolt has a sturdy kickstand so you can prop the phone on a desk to watch videos, conduct speakerphone calls, and the like. There's a Micro-USB port on the left side, and a volume rocker occupies the right side. Finally, on top of the device, you'll find a power/lock button and 3.5mm headphone jack.

The HTC ThunderBolt comes packaged with an AC adapter, a USB cable, a preinstalled 32GB microSD card, and reference material.

4G features and performance
Before we get to the phone's more-basic features, we thought we'd address the HTC ThunderBolt's whole raison d'etre, and that's 4G support. As mentioned earlier, the ThunderBolt is the first smartphone to work on Verizon's LTE 4G network, which promises average download speeds of 5Mbps to 12Mbps and upload speeds of 2Mbps to 5Mbps.

Given the impressive results we got using Verizon's LG VL600 LTE USB modem, you'd think we'd be a little more prepared for what we experienced on the ThunderBolt, but we were still blown away by what we saw. It's fast. Real fast.

Running Ookla's Speedtest.net app on the handset yielded some erratic and suspicious results (upload speeds were registering up to 39.79Mbps), so we also measured speeds using the phone as a mobile hot spot and as a tethered modem. With the ThunderBolt connected to our MacBook Pro as a mobile hot spot here in New York, we were able to get average download speeds of 7.41Mbps and upload speeds of 6.56Mbps.

By comparison, the HTC Evo 4G from Sprint averaged 3.42Mbps down and 0.93Mpbs up; the Samsung Galaxy S 4G on T-Mobile averaged 4.17Mbps down and 1.68Mbps up; and the HTC Inspire 4G on AT&T averaged 1.75Mbps down and 0.31Mbps up.

We got even better results when we had the ThunderBolt tethered to our Lenovo T61 ThinkPad. We averaged download speeds of 15.58Mbps and upload speeds of 3.44Mbps.
